Welcome to Your Home Wine Testing Site!

We take great pride in being able to serve the home/amateur winemaking population of our great nation. As a home winemaker myself for the last 17 years, I have found that the most profound challenge with making home wine is conducting reliable and accurate testing for ph, acid (TA), and Free Sulfite levels in juice, must, and finished wine. It's the balance of what I call the "Big Three" that will determine whether your wine will be poor, good or great, and whether or not it will last in the bottle for more than a year or two.

Determination of Malolactic (ML) fermentation progress and completion is also a very important part of winemaking, and we can test for that, too. And, if you forgot to take your own measurements for alcohol content using your refractometer prior to fermentation, we can provide you with your wine's alcohol level. In the near future, we will offer testing for harmful bacteria and other wine problems and faults.

Let's face it, pH testing is the easiest of the Big Three, but the other two are much more difficult and even quite frustrating, due to the challenges of titration and accurately determining color change for the test end point. And most people don't have an Ebulliometer to check alcohol content post fermentation. Well, we're here to end your frustrations and help you ensure that you know your wine's chemistry so that you can make those crucial adjustments and fixes where necessary to assure that your wine will be as balanced and fault-free as possible.

Toward that end, we offer a simple process of shipping to you a test sample bottle for each sample of your juice, must, and/or wine that you would like tested. You need only return to us your sample(s) in the included pre-paid packaging, and we will reliably and accurately conduct the testing and provide your accurate results by email within 72 hours of our receipt of your sample(s). How much better can that be!?

Our best testing value is our 3-panel process which tests for the "Big Three". . .pH, Total Acidity, and Free Sulfite levels. Order more than one test bottle and you automatically receive a discount for each additional bottle. For those who don't need a complete 3-panel "Big Three" test, we also conduct individual testing for each of the three panels. For example, if you already conduct your own testing for, say, pH and acidity, and you only want your sample tested for Free Sulfites, then you only pay for that test. Or, you can have us test for only Total Acidity (TA). AND, the pH test is always a freebie with an individual test (TA or Free Sulfite). Again, our 3-panel testing process is the best overall value, but we are happy to provide single panel testing at your request at a lesser cost.

We want you to be satisfied, and we want you to come back to us for more testing as you need it. As our business grows, we plan to add other testing panels for Brettanomyces, Acetaldehydes, Tyrene (T.C.A. or corkiness), and the like. We appreciate your support as we build our business, as we will be growing with ONLY the home/amateur winemaker in mind. We hope to serve you! Please don't hesitate to contact us with your questions or comments.

In vino veritas,

George
